The "Bartolomew Dias" has only sailed one voyage. In 1988, on the 500th anniversary of the original voyage, this ship sailed from Portugal to Mossel Bay, South Africa where it was dry docked after only one trip and is now on display for generations to come.

It really is a beautiful place and if you love the beach then you will have lots to do. There is also so much to do in the surrounding area, it would be hard to be bored there.

ReplyDeleteWe loved the pool as well, we wished we had our swimming suits with us that day. The area is definitely a big vacation area both for holiday rentals and for caravaning/camping but there are lots of people who live there year round too.
