Woke up at 7 o'clock this morning and there was frost on the windshield. Turned on the radio and they said it was 1 degree in North Bay. We had gone to sleep last night knowing it was supposed to get a little cool, but we decided to see how well
Sherman held the heat in so we had the furnace on for a few minutes before going to bed, but then left it off for the rest of the night. Woke up and it read 5 degrees on the bedside thermometer. Not bad, but a little chilly. Didn't take long for the furnace to take the chill off and with some nice hot coffee and tea we were doing fine.
Drove into downtown North Bay and found a parking spot by the library where we could get on the internet for free. Actually paid $2 for parking, but next time will look a little harder for a free spot. Left Sherman there and went for an hour and a half walk around North Bay's waterfront area. They have a big downtown renewal project on the go which includes the work they've already done on their waterfront park, and it's really very nice. The downtown still needs some work, but at least they are trying. One thing we noticed here was how organized their walking and bicycle paths are. You know that space between the sidewalk and the road where the grass never grows? That's where they paved and put in bike paths. Makes a lot more sense than putting in wider streets and keeps the bikes up above the curb away from the cars, yet away from the pedestrians as well. Not a bad idea, we thought. Saw several more overnight free parking spots that would have been ideal, so we will try and do more exploring for a spot before resorting to Wal-Mart.
A neat looking sundial on the North Bay Waterfront
Drove from North Bay to Sudbury today...fairly uneventful, but stopped in the little town of Warren where we pulled into the fairgrounds and made a quick sandwich and went for a little walk. Went to the Science North building in Sudbury but they wanted $18 each to do the tour, so we declined. But we went for a nice walk by the little lake they have near downtown. Overall, Sudbury is not a really nice place though...didn't find it very appealing in our opinion.

Then made our way to the Sudbury casino to park for the night. Went in to see about freebies, but all we could get was a neat little water bottle for me, and a little brush set for Ruth. Then went in and lost $5 each on the nickel slot machines, and had a "free" coffee and tea while in there.

Nice and quiet on the lot...we are the only RV here, so should be a peaceful night sleep.
