Didn't get as cold outside this morning as they said it was going to. Only down to zero instead of the minus 4 they were calling for. Good thing, because it was 3.5C on the digital thermometer we have by the bed.
Drove on to Winnipeg today. You can sure tell the change of scenery when Ontario stops and Manitoba begins. The rocky hills of Northern Ontario become flat and straight as the prairies begin. It was windy driving though...had to hang on to Sherman with both hands on the wheel.
When we got into Winnipeg, we headed for the Wal-Mart just to park up and get our bearings on where we were in the city and what we wanted to do. The Wal-Mart was not in a good location for staying overnight...too close to traffic. So we went for a long walk around the neibourhood and came across a CAA where we picked up a map of the city and found a spot where we could park Sherman and connect to the internet. Decided on heading to the Regent Casino where we could park for free and wander around the casino for a bit. They have a really good aquarium there where you walk through a tunnel and the fish are swimming beside you and above you. Almost gives you the feeling that the fish are flying....it's really neat! Spent $5 playing the 2 cent slot machines. You can play 2 cent machines for a long time on $5... :-)

So we're parked at the casino for the night. It's not very cold out...about 12C but it's really windy. Sitting here, Sherman is rocking back and forth in the wind. Supposed to be a warm day tomorrow...high of 18 and sunny...so we're going to explore "The Forks" region near downtown, and then meet up with my friend Glenn who works near there.
