Saturday November 10...11:00pm

Up before 7am once again, and hit the road right away. This highway 33 is quite a windy road with some steep sections as well, so it's nicer for us to drive on it when there's no traffic because we tend to average about 70 km/h or less. It's a cloudy
day when we get to Kelowna and we found a spot in a park to stop and have some breakfast. While there, it poured with rain for about 20 minutes and then a band of clear blue sky showed up. It turned out to be a decent day after all. It was windy, but at least it was a tail wind, so Sherman had some help today.

Heading up to Enderby, we stopped at Kalamalka Provincial Park just before Vernon. It's a day use park only, but it has lots of trails and was pretty busy with other dog walkers and hikers. We decided on the Lookout Trail that turned out to be around a 2 hour hike...maybe 4-5 km's. As the name implies, it was pretty much uphill for the first part, but the view at the top was worth it. As we were coming back down, Ruth spotted a buck in the forest. We've seen deer almost every day since we left Ottawa, but don't see one with a full set of antlers very often.

Got to Cindy's in Enderby about 3pm. My Aunt Sally's husband Don had passed away a few days ago, and that's why there was this sort of informal gathering of my cousin's and enabled us to see everyone at one spot. So Cindy and Scott were there with their 3 kids and 1 grandchild, Darl and (his wife) Cindy were there, Willis and Heidi were there, and Dean was there. And of course Sally. It was great to see everyone. They made a feast for supper. Darl recently moved to Parksville on Vancouver Island because he loves the fishing there and he brought a fresh salmon that they cooked on the BBQ. It was really good.

We think we're going to hang around here for a day or two and do some laundry and just relax.
