On top of a mountain

Wednesday November 14...11:15pm

It got a little cold last night. They were calling for -6. Not sure if it got that cold, but it may have...because it was 2.5 on our bedside thermometer this morning! No worries, we put the furnace on and it didn't take long to warm up nicely.

My cousin Ellen came and picked us up at 10:30am this morning. She and her guy Ben live in a cabin on top of a mountain. You pretty much need a 4 wheel drive to get up there...Sherman certainly wouldn't have made it. It's a really nice spot and even though they have no services, they have it set up with solar power and batteries and a generator. And they still get cell service up there, so they have internet and telephone and a satellite for TV. She took us for a hike that goes along a ridge near their property with a beautiful view of Vernon and the Okanogan Valley.

Stayed there for lunch and before we knew it, it was suppertime and we decided to stay overnight. They're lots of fun and we get along fine. Besides, it was starting to snow outside, so maybe safer to stay overnight. Poor Sherman can remain parked safely at Walmart all by himself for the night.
