The beach at Manzanillo is broken into 2 different bays. The section that this resort is on is at the south end of the first bay. So you can walk the beach to the north end of the bay which is about 3 km's each way. So I went and bought some sunscreen from the little shop on the
resort...paid way too much for it, but at least I won't get a sunburn. I figured I could probably walk the 6 km's to the end of the bay and back, and I did. But I didn't count on getting a huge blister on my foot...even though I was walking the beach in bare feet. So I ended up putting my sandals back on for the return trip, and it was okay, but I still don't get why I got a blister to begin with! But, the beach is beautiful, and there's nobody around. I guess because this area is popular with the locals from Guadalajara, we've been told that it actually gets pretty busy on the weekends. I guess we'll see.

Relaxed by the pool for the afternoon, and went to the seminar given by the tour guide people who try and get you to spend $50 US and up to go on one of their excursions. No thanks...I'll make my way around on my own. But it may have been worth my while. I spoke to a younger couple who are thinking of renting a car to go into Colima, and that's where I have to catch my flight on Monday. So I told them that if they did it on Monday, I would contribute some towards their car rental if they would take me to the airport. It would only cost me about $10 more than taking the bus, and would save me a whole bunch of time. So we'll see how that works out. If not, I don't mind taking the 3 different buses to get me to the Colima airport.
This evening was their "Mr. Mexico" show, where they picked 7 guys out of the audience to compete for the title of "Mr. Mexico"...They make you take off your shirt and then they dress you up in a grass skirt and bra thing and put a wig on you and make you dance. Good thing I didn't know anybody here!!! I came in second place!!! They said I made a pretty good Brittany Spears. It must have been scary...I wish I had a picture though...
Reading online that water and flooding has closed a section of the I-5 highway through Washington. That's where Ruth and Colin need to come through. Haven't heard from them yet, so hoping they make it through okay.
