Ruth's post - Meeting up with Kevin

Ruth and Colin's Day - Tuesday December 11

I am only writing my day up until I meet up with Kevin as he has written the journal for today. We had breakfast and cleaned up, moved into the parking lot so that we could fill the water tank up before heading across the border.

We then headed to Wal-Mart, Steve had an item that he needed to return and I picked up a couple of things. Stopped and filled up with gas, as we weren`t sure how soon we would be able to get some in Mexico.  I misunderstood this point, Kevin only wanted us to put in enough gas to get us to Ensenada, as gas is a lot cheaper in Mexico. I had Colin fill us up, not that we really needed too.

Then it was off to the border.  Colin was going to get out when Steve and Glen stopped at US customs as they needed to get their Visa stamped with an exit stamp and then I would actually drive across the border itself, unfortunately it was hard to follow, and we ended up crossing into Mexico, although not yet through the Mexico customs. There was Kevin waiting for us, we did it!  Colin quickly got out, hardly a goodbye, before he was dashing off to get back into the US. I am hoping he didn`t have any problems, but am very grateful for all the help he was with the driving, there is no way I would have been able to do that.  I am also hoping that he got to see Midway, the aircraft carrier that is in San Diego, before he heads out tomorrow.  I am sorry it wasn`t a bit more relaxing for him, not as fun as we had hoped it would be. Thank you once again Colin.
