On the road by 9am, and it turned out to be a good thing. The road south has some twisty windy parts, and overall it's pretty slow going. I'd think we probably averaged about 60 km/h if you took into consideration our checking
for directions and taking a coffee break. They had a pretty severe rain storm a couple of weeks ago and it's left some bad sections to the rural roads that haven't completely dried up yet. So when we break off the main highway to head for the coast, we have to be careful not to get onto some roads that may not be passable.
The road in to the campground (notice all the water at the side)
At San Quintin, we asked for directions to a few campsites. As we pulled onto a side road, a car passed by and waved us over to the side. He was a helpful guy, who noticed that we were in RV's and may not be able to make it past the bad road ahead. He suggested we make the next right into an RV park and evaluate our situation from there. Turned out that this "RV Park" had camping with water and sewer hook ups for $5 a night. That's about our price range, so we pulled in there. It's not a bad spot...they seem to be trying to fix the place up, and they even have a bar with half price drinks from 4-5pm. So we paid our $5 for camping and got ourselves set up. We all took Whiskey for a walk down to the beach. There's another RV park along the way, but there's only one other vehicle there because the rains from last week have left the road in pretty bad shape. Whiskey had fun on the beach chasing after her ball. As we were walking, we noticed a seal sunning itself on the edge of the water. We got closer, and it headed back into the water, but what a neat sight being that close to a seal at the edge of the water.
The beach...nobody around

We got too close...he headed back to the sea...
Just finished another game of Canasta with Glen and Steve. Much better game than last night...really looking forward to playing again.
