Los Cerritos Beach (day 4...but different scenery)

Friday January 18...10:50pm

We needed some more milk and fruit juice and a couple of other things so we decided it was a good time to move from the beach club parking lot and rejoin our friends Glen and Steve where they have been parked with a bunch of other RV'ers further down the beach.

So we quickly packed up and drove the extra 5 minutes or so into the nearby village and picked up some supplies. Oddly enough, this little store we went to had REAL maple syrup. A 2 litre bottle (imported from Canada) for about $20. So we bought it. Seemed really weird coming across maple syrup way down here, but we realized afterwards that because there is a Costco store in Cabo San Lucas, many of the local shops will go there to buy their own goods for sale. That's where the maple syrup came from. Anyhow, now we have a nice supply until we get back to Canada.

It was about 4pm when we entered the area where these RV's are parked, and a group of them had gathered for "happy hour"...just a few drinks and talking before dinner. They watched as I walked down to where we wanted to park. It's always wise to walk your route first in order to get a better idea of ruts in the road or sharp turns. Especially since the paths that we sometimes drive these vehicles down are sometimes hardly wide enough for one car...let alone a full size motorhome. Anyhow, we had decided to take one of the more "challenging" routes to get to where we wanted to park. It turns out that whenever someone new drives down this route, all the regulars stand there and cheer everytime you make it over a steep section or make it around a corner in one attempt. Seems that many people take that route and have problems. Happy to say that I drove the obstacle course without incident, and heard lots of cheering from the cheap seats! After we got set up, we made our way over there to introduce ourselves to the regulars.

Learned a new card game with Glen and Steve tonight, and then had a few hands of Euchre.
