Got up early and moved right away to be able to use the internet. Booked Lindsey and Justins flight to visit us in Florida March 8-17. Not easy to get good prices during March break, so we ended up using a combination of Air
Miles and different carriers. They have to fly Halifax to Toronto to Boston to Washington to Jacksonville. But the total cost return including taxes during high season came to $782 plus 2900 air miles. Not bad for high season. And so now we look forward to seeing them in a couple of weeks!
We started heading towards a little town on the gulf coast south of Galveston. But as we were leaving the town of Port Lavaca I saw a sign for a visitor center, and good thing I did. The girl there pointed us towards a free beach about 7 miles away where she said lots of RV’ers camp for free. So we detoured a bit and are set up at Magnolia Beach on the gulf coast. Only 5 or 6 other RV’s here, and it’s very quiet. Went for a bike ride this afternoon and did about 8 km’s on the road with hardly any other traffic. It rained on and off again today, but it’s supposed to be nice tomorrow, so maybe we’ll stay another day.
