Back in West Palm Beach

We had a really nice stay at John Prince park. We’ll have to remember to keep our eyes open for more of these county run parks while we’re heading north over the next few weeks.
 
Alex’s team played last night against Broward Community College. We declined to go for a few reasons, and in the end it was the right thing to do. Alex didn’t play because the coach wanted to have a look at another player, and the team lost 16-1. We have to remember that most of the colleges down here have been playing their baseball season since January, whereas Alex’s school has only been playing oudoors as of this week. And as a result, the schools down here tend to attract the more talented players as well. Also, they’ve been playing Division l teams in order to sharpen their skills for when they play Division lll teams when their regular season starts in April.

We met up with Alex back at their hotel where we’ll spend the night. The boys had gone to the beach today, and it ended up being fairly warm in the afternoon after a cloudy and rainy morning. We played some cards and had Alex over for supper. Played more cards in the evening.

Tomorrow, we look forward to watching them play their last game before they head back north on Sunday.

We’re also heading back north soon, and trying to figure out our route in the process. We know we want to visit Washington, DC., and may take the route going through the Great Smokey Mountains. Also, we had stayed with a family near Lexington, Kentucky a couple of years ago with Alex’s team and wouldn’t mind visiting them again.
