Back in West Palm Beach

Friday March 21…9:30pm

Went for a nice bike ride before leaving. Went in behind where those expensive houses and yachts were parked in the pictures I posted from yesterday. I figured that if your house and boat are so expensive, there’s got
to be some expensive cars parked in the driveways, right? And I was right…saw a couple of Maseratis, Ferraris, Rolls Royces, Bentleys, and a Lotus. Along with the requisite BMW’s and Mercedes.

Drove up to West Palm Beach this morning. We parked at the Best Western Hotel that Alex’s team is staying at. We had previously emailed them and asked if they had a spot where we could park for a few nights, and they had said they made arrangements for us to park in the back of the Chinese food restaurant next door. I had gone to have a look at that, and it probably would have been okay, but when I went in to speak with the sales department who had arranged this, they ended up letting us park in their own parking lot…which is much nicer, more convenient, and more secure. So once again, we have nothing but good things to say about Best Western Hotels. I’m sure that part of their courtesy is because Alex’s team has rented a few rooms for a 9 day stretch…but still, it’s been really good of them.

And so we met up with Alex. He’s very excited to be down here in the decent weather, and looking forward to playing baseball. They start off with a double header tomorrow beginning at 11:30am.
