Baseball in Watertown

Saturday April 19…11:30pm

We’re looking for a dump station to empty Sherman’s holding tanks at some point over the next week or so. Problem is that 95% of the state parks don’t open until mid-May, and the RV parks usually want to charge a ridiculous amount to
just use that service. I read online that quite a few municipalities have a dump station at their local sewage treatment plant, so I found out where that might be in Watertown. It looked like it was close to Alex’s house, so we took Whiskey for a walk down there to find out. But it turned out that we went to the “water” treatment plant, not the “sewage” treatment plant. The guy working there thought it was kind of funny that we were asking if they had somewhere there we could dump our sewage. He didn’t think that would go over very well!

Funny thing was that the sewage treatment plant is right behind the fairgrounds stadium where Alex plays baseball, and sure enough we are welcome to use the facility whenever we like.

So we went to the fairgrounds around 12:30pm because the games were scheduled to start at 1:00pm. We have no idea what the story was, but the umpires didn’t show up until almost 3:00pm! It’s a good thing it was a beautiful day. In fact, we heard on the news tonight that they had a record high here today of 86F (30C). Anyhow, the games eventually got started. Alex’s team lost the first game 9-8, and the second game 8-6 in extra innings. A couple of tough losses. Alex himself did very well…two doubles and a single, and he played well in the outfield too.

They play again tomorrow, against a higher rated team. Hopefully things come together for them.
