Much nicer driving today, and as a result we made it all the way to Calais, Maine. We are right on the border, in fact our parking spot is overlooking the river that separates Canada and the United States.
We were going to stay at the Calais Walmart, but it’s not the nicest there, and we have a nice spot on the river here. We are parked right outside a Maine State Police office, so I expect we’ll be pretty safe here. I even asked the officer in there if we could park here and she phoned the Calais city police and asked. We never got a firm answer, but she figured we were “okay” here.
