Wednesday June 11…11:35pm
We drove into the town of Antigonish and went to the visitor centre. We found out some info on trails in the area, but the ones we want to go to are on a point northwest of here, so we’ll head up that way on our way back from Cape Breton
towards PEI. We parked near downtown and went for a walk around. Antigonish is a relatively small town, but it’s population grows during the school year due to Francis Xavier University, which has its main campus here. Ruth mentioned that Antigonish is a town that we could live in whenever we decide to settle down somewhere, and I commented that I was about to say the same thing.
In the afternoon, we headed over to our couchsurfing hosts, Charlie and Ronny. They have 5 acres near town, and it’s a great place for their 3 young children to grow up. We had a very nice meal of barbequed salmon, and after the kids went to bed we tried watching the Da Vinci Code movie, but about half way through we were all falling asleep, so we called it a night.
