I rode my bike back to the hotel this morning and used the internet for a bit. We’re not customers there any more, so I don’t want to overstay my welcome in their lobby, although nobody seems to mind.
Afterwards, I gave Sherman an oil change. I had bought the oil and filter before entering Mexico so that I wouldn’t have to try and find the proper stuff here. Now we should be okay until we get back into the US.
We had some lunch, and then Steve and I played some backgammon in the afternoon. Along with euchre and canasta, this is another game where we are keeping track of our win-loss record for the duration of our time together. In backgammon, he is beating me 8 to 4, so I’m going to have to roll the dice differently or something!
The girl came by to collect the rent…$11.00 CAN for yesterday, and $13.50 CAN for today. Tomorrow will also be $13.50 CAN, and then it will be back down to $9.00 CAN for Sunday and Monday. Despite the rent structure, it doesn’t seem to relate to the number of guests, although there are a couple of people in the casitas (small separate houses broken into 2 or 3 apartments) for the weekend.
A couple from California are parked with us now in their 4 wheel drive camper. They did the journey all the way to Panama last year, so it was interesting talking to them.
