The morning started off cloudy, but by noon it had pretty much cleared up. It’s supposed to be warm and sunny the next several days.

I spent some time puttering around our generator problem. It’s not much of a problem really, because we don’t have a need for the generator anyhow. Still, it would be nice to have it working. I took apart all the electrical connections and cleaned them and put them back together. I did some reading on the internet about possible solutions to the problems we’ve had, and I really think it needs a new voltage regulator (about $175 US) but will try a few other things before we decide to go that route. Either way, if it needs parts, it’s not something we can do until we get back to the States. Maybe we’ll just get rid of the generator and install more batteries and solar panels. It would probably take away from the resale value, because a lot of RV’ers seem to like using big noisy generators, but it would suit our needs better.

Ruth emptied the fridge and gave it a good cleaning, including all the shelves. The fridge has been working perfectly since we fixed whatever caused the last problem. We don’t go through very much in the way of laundry, because we pretty much only wear shorts and t-shirts, so she’s been doing a small amount of hand washing every day just to keep on top of it. There is no laundry close to here, so it would be a pain to have to take it into town to try and get it done.

A friend of Kathe’s came and picked us up about 3pm and took us into town. We needed to get a few groceries and she was heading that way anyhow. We did our shopping and took a taxi back. The taxi cost 40 pesos ($3.64 CAN, $3.00 US) for about a 20 minute ride that was about 10 km’s away.
