Ruth went into Playa Del Carmen with Ernie and Stephanie, a couple who summer in Barrie, Ontario and who are staying here at Xpu-Ha beach for most of this winter.
They have a motorohome and they tow a car, so it’s convenient when you’re staying in one place to be able to have a vehicle with you. They were going for a grocery run, and Ruth tagged along with them to do the same thing.

While Ruth was doing that, I stayed behind and took Whiskey for a walk on the beach and then did some reading.
We did some BBQ hamburgers for lunch, and then I lost 5 games games of backgammon in a row to Steve. Sometimes, the dice just don’t roll your way!
A common topic of conversation among those of us who venture down here is the seemingly constant media reports that are dispensed to the public up north regarding what a dangerous place Mexico is. We never see any danger, and don’t know anybody who has. Although, a story going around this campground area is that someone got his laptop stolen before Christmas when he left his vehicle unlocked. We think it’s perfectly safe here in Mexico, provided you use the same common sense that you would use in downtown Toronto!
