Huatulco (day 3)

Thursday February 12…9:30pm

Just a relaxing day today. Ruth and I took Whiskey for a walk on the beach before it got too hot, and then (after Whiskey enjoyed her celebrity status once again) Ruth and her settled down on the beach for a couple of hours. In the meantime, I went back and helped Steve fix a little wiring problem he had on his motorhome.

Had lunch at Glen and Steve’s and then a few rounds of euchre. Later on, we took Whiskey for a walk along the road that goes past the nearby hotels. Stopped at the tourist office and picked up some info about nearby free camping spots. The place we are at is nice enough, but it’s not ideal…and I like to investigate all the possibilities that might exist. So tomorrow Ruth and I will bike to the next bay and see what’s there.

As we were walking back, we saw two RV’s pass us and assumed they were heading for the campground we’re at. They had stopped near the tourist police lot that we had parked at the first night here, and we figured they must not have good directions. I volunteered to lead them there but by this point they had already hired a taxi driver to lead the way. Not sure why, because they were almost there on their own. These are more Rv’s from Quebec. There are definitely FAR more RV’s from Quebec than any other Canadian province here in Mexico. We’re not sure why this is…maybe Quebecers in general are more adventurous, and if that’s the case, we give them credit for that! And, there are more Canadians in general at the resorts than Americans.

The money man came to collect the rent. We thought he might have missed us for yesterday, but he was right on top of things. Cost is 100 pesos per night ($9.10 CAN, $7.30 US).

It is hot again tonight…temperature inside Sherman at almost 10pm is 27C, and there isn’t a bit of wind.

Total nights sleeping in a motorhome…477

February Fuel $ 91.00 CAN

February Grocery $131.87 CAN

February Overnight costs $ 38.00 CAN
