Tuesday February 17…9:15pm
Didn’t have a good sleep last night. Apparently the lighthouse is used by the younger crowd to come and party at…until 5am in the morning sometimes!
So although the people themselves were not loud, the “thump, thump, thump” of their music definitely kept us from a good sleep.
We did wake up again in time to see a fantastic sunrise from our bedroom window.
Relaxed for the morning, and then decided to try and find this small beach one bay over. So Ruth and I head down the hill from where we’re parked. We had been told about this secluded beach and that it had good snorkelling and swimming. There’s no way to get there by car…you either walk down the side of a cliff from the road, or you get there by boat.
As we’re going down, I see a boat parked on shore, with two guys in it. I take a few more steps, and I see two more people…both naked bodies behind a rock…doing what comes naturally! I stop and look for a second and Ruth says “what are you looking at?”…so I show her. We’re above them coming down the path so they can’t really see us.
So what to do…I figure, the hell with it…and start walking down as if we hadn’t seen them. Whiskey the dog carries on ahead and I’m thinking maybe they will see the dog and stop what they’re doing. But apparently they don’t care! So we walk around the corner and I feign a little shock at what I see, as if I’m surprised…the look on the girl’s face was priceless…but still she doesn’t stop the guy from doing what he’s doing.
So we go around the corner a bit and go in the water to do some snorkelling. By this time, things have switched around…the naked couple are having more fun, of a different sort…I’m looking around for cameras, figuring this has got to be a shoot for a porn film or something. And, they’re doing this in full view of the two guys in the boat. It was too strange….
There was only one exit, and we had to go right by where they had been so we finally got up enough nerve to walk back around the rock after we saw the two of them carrying on their fun in the water.
It was too funny! The odd thing was that this was a Mexican couple…the Mexicans are typically pretty conservative about these kinds of things.
Then we walked from there, over to the same beach we had been at yesterday. Ruth did some more snorkelling, while I sat in the shade with Whiskey.
Ruth made a great chicken stir fry for supper, and then we finished watching the Harry Potter film from last night.
This place has been fine, and with a great view, but it’s time to find some new beaches tomorrow.
