Near Puerto Escondido (day 3)

Wednesday February 25…10:30pm

For some reason, Whiskey let us sleep in this morning. She must have known we got in late last night, because she didn’t wake us up until about 8:20am…this is definitely sleeping in for us!

We didn’t do much today except sit and read. There is a little internet café I found within walking distance, so I went and tried it out, but they only have a small satellite dish and there were about ten kids in there also using the internet and so the connection speed was pretty slow.

Marie and Alfredo have decided to get married…on this coming Sunday or Monday! They are not yet certain that they can arrange the paperwork this quickly, but they will know for sure tomorrow. We were not planning on staying this long, but they have asked us to be the official witnesses to the ceremony. Apparently it will only be a small civil marriage with just family…but there seems to be a LOT of family around, so we’re not sure what to expect. We said we had to leave by Monday at the latest, but if they are to get married then, we will stay until Tuesday. We’re already slightly behind schedule as we expected to be just north of Acapulco by the end of February. It’s no big deal, it just means we will do quite a bit more driving in March than we did in February.

Mary and her mother and sister in law came over to see pictures on the laptop this evening.
