Playa Zipolite (day 2)

Thursday February 19…10:00pm

Before it got too hot, we walked with Whiskey all the way to the end of the beach. Lots of other people out walking and jogging and doing various exercises such as yoga. Many with no clothes on.

They build all kinds of funny little shelters here

There are quite a few stray dogs on the beach, and we had to shoo them away from Whiskey at times. Most just ignore her, but this one big Rottweiller dog came running towards us growling and I had to pick up Whiskey. This dog had a collar though and it’s owner was trying to call it back. It is not a friendly dog, and its owner is very stupid for not keeping him on a leash. I almost went back to tell him so, but decided it wasn’t worth it.

Spent most of the day reading and staring at the ocean. This beach has huge waves that come crashing in, and they must be 10 feet tall at times.

The view from where we sit all day long...

Walked down the beach with Steve and Glen to watch the beautiful sunset, and then stopped at a nice restaurant that had a sign out advertising cocktails 2 for 40 pesos ($3.60 CAN, $2.88 US). So we each ordered a drink, and when they came, she brought 2 each! Still, a really good deal but we got twice as much as we wanted.

Had a game of euchre, then did some more reading. Very hot and muggy in Sherman just now, no breeze at all.
