South Padre Island (day 2)

Friday April 3…10:15pm

We planned on waking up in time for the sunrise, but we missed it by ten minutes!

We walked Whiskey on the beach, and then Bill and Bonnie came over for pancakes mid morning.

Ruth and I decided to take a bike ride. It’s very flat, and we took the highway back to the beach road entrance where we could ride on the hard packed sand. But it was much further than we thought it was going to be. Not a big deal, but we ended up being gone for an hour and a half. Good exercise, anyhow!

Did some reading this afternoon, and had a little nap.

Bonnie and Bill have a friend who lives on South Padre Island, and Mary-Ann came to visit this afternoon. She ended up staying for dinner, and Ruth made a chicken casserole for everyone, with baked potatoes, and Bonnie brought a salad.

Tommorow we start to head north. We’ll drive every day until we get to the Natchez Trace Parkway in Natchez Misssissippi.
