Spent the morning doing some minor repairs to Sherman. Nothing important, just crossing a few things off the to-do list. Ruth spent the morning cleaning out the oven/stove top area, which she had wanted to do while at her parents, but somehow never got around to it.
Ruth took Whiskey for a little morning stroll around the grounds here. We don’t put her on the leash because it doesn’t really matter. And, most Mexican dogs are never on a leash, although we have seen some. Anyhow, as she was returning, a doberman type of dog was approaching Whiskey. Now, any unleashed dogs we’ve met in Mexico have been either very friendly, or scared of people in general. I heard Ruth calling me, and went out to see this dog and Whiskey sniffing noses. As I got close, the doberman attacked Whiskey, grabbing her neck. I tried to kick the dog, and it quickly let go. I chased it off, but it was in no rush to leave. We saw it wandering the grounds for the next hour or so, but it did eventually disappear. It never did show any aggression towards Ruth or I, but it sure didn’t like Whiskey. She seems no worse for wear from the encounter, but it was a little scary.
A storm looked like it was brewing this afternoon, but it never did turn into anything more than some stronger winds.
