We drove about an hour to St. George, SC and are using the internet. We were supposed to use a dump station around here, but we missed a turn and are now about 6 miles south of where we wanted to be and we're not going back. We'll find a dump station somewhere along the way, and it's not an emergency anyhow.
Here is out planned route for today, although who knows where we'll end up stopping...
3:30pm
Well, it's not the nicest day, clouds and a bit of rain, so we have done a bit more driving than we planned. We're already south of Sylvania Georgia, posting this from Statesboro. We've found a place that sounds neat, called Little Flock Farm just outside of Collins, Georgia where they've advertised free camping, so that's where we're headed for the night!
10:30pm
We pulled up to Little Flock Farm just before 5pm. The gate was closed, but Teresa was right there asking if we needed help. She moved the old pickup truck so we could get by, and walked me over to where the dump station is. Despite the fact that she has advertised the facility online, she says that once people realize that it's just a farm with no services, the have "chainsaw massacre" images in their minds, and very few people end up stopping for the night. She said she would move the horses and the llama into their pens, but we said it wouldn't bother us to walk the premises with the animals, and it's been fine. Here it is at 10:30 at night, and it's totally peaceful.
Distance driven total: 1,312 miles (2,100 kms)
March fuel: $353.50
March Groceries: $96.91
March overnight: $0.00
March Misc: $48.67
