You all know that we don't like to pay to park our motorhome overnight when we're travelling, and that we're not "RV park" people. And although we're getting pretty good at finding places other than Walmart to spend the night, it's always good to come across other options.
By the way, our entire month of March spent on the road, we only stayed at 2 Walmarts. That's pretty good, don't you think!?
Anyhow, we came across this new opportunity that we think would suit us just fine, so we thought we'd share with you...

We've always thought that orchards and wineries would make good overnight stops, and even tried asking at a winery once but we were turned down due to "insurance regulations", which we all know is a pile of crap. I think the girl behind the counter didn't know what to say, and didn't have anyone to ask so came up with that lame excuse.
Anyhow, it looks like this new site has already signed up 150 possible drycamping locations in the U.S., so we're going to be taking advantage of their $20 annual membership when we head for Mexico in November. We spend almost a month getting to the Mexican border, and almost a month getting back to Canada, so I'm sure there will be some spots that we can take advantage of.
Glad my link came in handy! Will be interesting to hear from you when you have visited some of the places, I was amaazed just how many there were.
ReplyDeleteAnd I would have given you credit for it, but I thought you were giving up on the whole blogging thing!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea and concept. When we hit the road we are definitely going to hit as many of those places as we can.
ReplyDeleteYes, we bookmarked that site too for future reference. Thanks!
