Here is a breakdown of our Google Adsense income since we started.
December $ 13.22
January $119.51
February $ 61.67
March $ 48.24
And April, was $32.89
Some days we don't make any money, and the best day last month we made $3.21. I like looking at all of the statistics that Google supplies me with! There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason behind why some days or months are better than others. I kind of thought March would have been better since we were actually travelling, but apparently not. Maybe we will be able to attract more readers when we leave for Mexico November 1st!
When I visit other blogs who's writers have Google Adsense, I make an effort to visit an advertiser if I see something that might look interesting. It costs me abolutely nothing, and the person who's blog I'm visiting makes a few cents...I think it's a great program!
I haven't figured any rhyme or reason on it either. They supply you with so much information and I know it should help me figure out what works, but I just haven't taken the time to read and study the information. I also thought we'd do better once we were traveling, but maybe not :)
ReplyDeleteRuth keeps telling me not to worry about it...that it's better than actually paying to have a blog. And it is, but I still can't help but look at the statistics 3 or 4 times a day!
ReplyDeleteWhat I figured out was it was just not worth it for me! Never got the money they owed me before they voided my account so I'd say only do your blog if it suits you but not for the money, you can earn more spending your time doing other things as you are both so bright and time spent blogging is time wasted that you could be doing something else more enjoyable!
ReplyDeleteWhen we started fulltiming we paid to have a travel blog, with adsense, they pay us. We are still doing actually the same thing that we did with travel blog that we paid for, other than the fact when we weren't travelling, it only got updated once a week or so, with the exception of last summer when we were in one spot for six months. Now we are making a post everyday. This is not hard work and we enjoy it, and hope that someone may get something out of it. Should we make some money on it then that is an added bonus, but we would still be doing it even if we didn't. Kevin and I both enjoy hearing from our readers and seeing the different countries in the world that people tune into us from.
