Hike on the K & P Trail

Well today I worked a double shift.  From 9am-1:30pm I was cleaning and from 3-9pm I was in the office.  It actually went pretty well but I am glad I don't have to do that too often.

Anyway not too much happening so I thought I would share the hike Whiskey and I did on the K & P Trail just a quick walk down the road from us.  We did this hike a few days ago.  I have mentioned walking along the trail before but never had my camera to take any pictures, plus it was on the trail going the other way.  This time we walked the prettier section, or at least what I consider the more scenic section.

The K & P trail used to be a railway line that now has been converted to a multi use trail, including horseback riding (there is a stable just down the road from us).  It is quite shaded which is nice, only problem is there are more mosquitoes.  We walked from the campground to the trail, then along the trail for about 2km's (1.2mi) and then back to the campground on a quiet back road, a circular route.  In total we walked about 4km's (2 1/2mi) or so.

K & P Trail going toward Kingston

Whiskey on the trail looking the other way

A view of a farm from the trail

A pond belonging to the farm, I think!

Cows grazing in a field

The road going back and the big steep hill

Nice yellow butterfly, an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail I think!

Whiskey enjoyed her walk and was quite happy to relax for the rest of the day.
