Playa Chahue (Huatulco, day 19)

Had a good sleep parked up on the dead end street. We were parked just far enough off the road that nobody could see us down there, and as far as we know, nobody did.

Around 9:30am we drove the couple of kms over to the Copalita Eco-Archealogical Park. We wandered the trails for a couple of hours and really enjoyed the one fantastic overlook above Playa Bocana.

There were a lot of different butterflies on the trails but we had a hard time getting any of them to sit still!

There was not a lot of the “archealogical” stuff that interested us because we have been to so many ruins sites that are much better than this one. But they’ve done a nice job on the trails and considering it only opened a year ago it’s still a work in progress.

We couldn’t get internet from the parking lot though, so we drove back into Huatulco near Playa Chahue and found an empty parking lot that looks like it’ll also be a decent overnight spot. I hopped on my bike to explore a bit more and found a couple of other spots that looked suitable to overnight, but none were any better than where we were, so this is where we are!

Tomorrow morning we’re going to do a grocery shop then fill the propane tank. Then we’re headed for Playa Zipolite about an hour up the coast from here. Not sure if we’ll have internet from there, and we’ll probably spend the weekend there so don’t worry if you don’t hear from us until Monday!
