Playa La Entrega (Huatulco, day 9)

Another day of doing nothing. Well, we did nothing important. Played games, went snorkeling…beach bum sort of nothing.

But there were still some highlights worth talking about. Ruth and Alex were playing cribbage, and Ruth had a perfect hand. For anybody who plays cribbage, you know this is akin to winning the lottery. Too bad there was no money involved!

Alex and I completed our three week backgammon marathon. We played 236 games and I won 125…Alex won 111.

back at Playa La Entrega

We went snorkeling and saw a sting ray. He had partially buried himself in the sand, but he was definitely a sting ray. And we took some pieces of banana into the water…sure is funny watching the fish eat the banana. Seems that only certain species like them, but those who like them, like them a lot!

Another beautiful sunset. Again, not the nicest parking spot, but you can’t get tired of the views.

We’re headed out of here tomorrow though. Alex’s flight leaves at around 3:00pm and we’ll try and get some laundry and stuff done as well. Plus, the internet is acting up, so don’t know when this will get posted.

  1. You are definitely a million miles from home both in mind and body - that's what a holiday is supposed to be.

How are the solar panels working out? I assume they are working well?

  3. A man & his son at the beach with their dog, it doesn't get much better than that, On the other hand my son said he would take John Deere out and plow the driveway and parking area of the snow we got last night, won't be any snorkeling here. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna...

  4. We can't figure why anybody lives in Canada. It's simply not suitable for human habitation!

WBY...the best thing we did was buy the four Trojan deep cycle batteries, and the third 80w solar panel. The system is exactly the way we need it and haven't run out of power yet. The only time we came close was in Mammoth Caves National Park because the majority of campsites are in the shade. But down here where the sun shines every day and almost all day long...we have power to spare!

  5. Rick and Paulette...Loving it! How's your weather there?

Sam and Donna...Yes it can, you have to add in the wife and mother! The snow you got has cancelled Alex's Houston to New York flight today. We called Continetal today and rebooked the whole flight for tomorrow. Alex is heartbroken that he now has to spend another day in Mexico..life is rough sometimes!

  8. Chris...We will. thanks! Hope it warms up there for you. Having to use an electric blanket would suck!

heyduke50...It was nice to spend time with him, first time for a long time and we are even getting one extra day out of it as one of his flights got cancelled due to the snow storm in New York.
