Reader Contessa asked us to post a photo of where we are parked up right now. We are taking up almost half of the small parking area so it’s difficult to get a decent photo, but I took a few to give you some perspective.
The view out of our side window. You can see the palapas that we sit under during the afternoon and the beach and ocean just beyond that.
Spent the afternoon sitting under our palapa reading and staring at the ocean. Looking for whales, but have only caught a brief glimpse of two way off in the distance. We saw quite a few from shore last time we were here, but have hardly seen any this time.
Around 7:30pm, we walked down to the main part of town. For a treat, we decided to have dinner out. The one place we were planning on going was closed tonight for whatever reason, but there were quite a few other choices. Most places have their menu set out on the road so that you can browse it before deciding to sit down.
The view from where we were sitting
The place we chose had a lot of different chicken dishes. Ruth ordered a beef dish that had a lot of vegetables. We weren’t even sure what she was going to get when she ordered it. I tried ordering chicken, and they said they were out of chicken! Oh well, I ordered Beef Cordon Bleu. So at least I had an idea of what I was getting.
The food was decent. Not great, but decent. But the value was there…besides our meals, I had a Corona and Ruth had a bottle of water. Total bill for dinner out including tip, was 150 pesos ($12.50).
Thanks for the photos. I wonder if you were there in Dec. of 2005! Your rig seems familiar. There is no way we would fit our 40' bus in there. Too bad. We have always said that once we downsize that is where we will be. I do wonder if your fur baby is not well. Hope all is well soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely little spot to be tucked away in!

Contessa...No, we were here in February 2009. You're right there is no way a 40' motorhome would fit in here. We were lucky to just make it in.
ReplyDeleteWhiskey is doing well, she is old. She is happier now that we aren't taking her for as long a walk. She can't wait to get outside and sit in the sand have have the breeze blow on her.
Karen and Steve...It is a lovely spot. Can't even see the little side street we are parked beside because the owners have a nice little garden with shrubs, catcus and flowers planted.

Glad to hear Whiskey is feeling better, when they get old they are a lot like us and slow down, Your parking area and sitting areas is just great, I would be in the water at least once every day. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna...
ReplyDeleteNice place, have you seen many nude people? You mentioned it was a nude beach (no, I don't want pictures!).
ReplyDeleteLooks like a cute little place, the food didn't look too bad. I would totally go for that!
Cheers!
Take the dog to a groomer and cut some the fur off, at it stands it like wearing an artic parka to the beach. That may revive her spirit?
ReplyDeleteWe could enjoy a nice spot like that to camp.
ReplyDeleteSam and Donna...Yep, she has perked up, I guess she was just having an off day, we all have those.
ReplyDeleteThe red flags are still up. I tried going in the water the other day but there is too much undertow for me. There are very few people in the water because of that, otherwise I would be in every day too.
WBY...Yes, we see nude people walking up and down the beach each day but not a lot, some type of clothing is more the norm. Don't worry we won't be posting pictures.
Anonymous...It may seem like a fur coat to us but it works as like an insulator. Makes them warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Shave it off and then they get sunburnt just like us.
Chuck and Anneke...Cone and join us!
