In the afternoon, we walked into town. It’s about a half hour walk into Valle de Juarez. We picked up a few groceries and some beer and a bottle of wine which was obviously too much to carry back walking, so we found a taxi and were charged 20 pesos ($1.68) for the ride back to Sherman at Hacienda Contreras.
An avocado tree in Barb and Sal's yard.
Fresh picked avocado anyone?
How about pomegranates?
Or maybe papaya's? All of these things grow in their backyard.
Sal and Barb have a house in town and it’s interesting talking about property values and building prices. This is definitely a place we would consider living at. They pay about 400 pesos ($33.65) PER YEAR in property taxes! But, you then have to be prepared to put up with bumpy roads and everything else that goes with a community paying very little in property taxes.
Ruth made a nice stew, and so we had Sal and Barb over to the motorhome for supper.
You go live there, I will come visit. Promise!!
ReplyDeleteSold....we'll purchase the lot next door!
ReplyDeleteWBY...We'll have it set up for an RV or two.
ReplyDeleteContessa...That's an idea, then maybe we could get an even better price.
