Yesterday was beautiful. The sun was bright in the sky all day long, and the temperature actually got up to 10C (50F) or so. We went for a short walk and then got on the ferry to Brier Island at 11:00am.
Out for a walk on Brier Island.
We drove towards the “North Light”. There is a small coast guard station here beside the lighthouse and we went there first. I spoke to a couple of guys working there, and they said we were fine to park at their lot overnight, but it wasn’t the most level. We had driven by a spot overlooking them that seemed better, so went back to that. (GPS 44.28536 -66.34216) Our mi-fi cellular internet works great here. It seems odd to be in the middle of nowhere and be able to get on the net just like that!
View of the coast guard station from Sherman's roof!
We took Whiskey for a nice walk along the coast. It’s a beautiful island and we could easily spend a week here wandering around. We’ll return at some point later because for now we want to be back with Lindsey and family for Easter dinner on Monday.
Relaxed and did some reading this afternoon. I've been enjoying Arthur Hailey's novels. Already finished Wheels and The Moneychangers, now reading Airport.
We watched a movie last night, “The Next Three Days” with Russell Crowe. It was pretty good, and definitely kept you on the edge of your seat.
So far it’s nice and sunny again, but they’re calling for clouds and showers later today. We could easily spend another night here, but we're going to find a different parking spot just for a change and go for another hike this morning while it’s a nice day!
Today's drive...only 6.5 kms (4.0 miles)!
Looks like another great spot, you guys all have a Happy Easter. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.

There may not be heat, but Canada certainly has lots to offer! Happy Easter to you and your family. Baby Cameron looks gorgeous and glad to hear Whiskey is doing better. Our Morgan the Scottie has his ups and downs and we hope we will be able to bring him with us when we leave from White Rock BC in Jan 2012!! Peace ♥
ReplyDeleteYup... your blog is looking much much colder than your posts while in Mexico!
ReplyDeleteBut your scenery is very pretty, nevertheless----

Doug and Nancy...Yes, Canada has some beautiful scenery and hopefully soon we will have the warmth as well as the scenery. I hope Morgan has more ups than downs and will be there with you when you leave next year.
ReplyDeleteKaren and Steve...Yup, we sure are missing that weather. I guess this is pay back for bragging how nice it was in the winter.
