Well they were calling for rain yesterday, and they weren’t wrong. We did manage to get out for a walk in the morning though before the rain started.
Out for a stroll in the Annapolis Valley
There’s a beautiful old church just down the road, and in doing some research we learned that it was built in 1810. There were two interesting plaques on the property that I thought we’d share because the stories are so coincidental.
Then it started to rain fairly hard, so we went and did some grocery shopping. We are still getting sticker shock here, and we actually refuse to pay some of the prices they are asking. We always shop the flyers for “on sale” bargains anyhow, but I think that while we are in Nova Scotia we will be living on the bargains and won’t be buying very much of anything at regular pricing!
After supper we went out to Canning to visit with another couchsurfer who had offered a place for Sherman to park up. Tracey has a nice old house on a level piece of land and has a perfect parking spot for Sherman . She’s fairly new to the area, so she says it will be nice to have some company. We’re going to check out another possible spot on Thursday. The whole idea is to be able to have somewhere convenient and fairly close to Lindsey’s where we can come back to when we’re not out exploring with the motorhome, and we can also leave the car behind when we are. And we don’t want to overstay our welcome at any one place so it will be nice to have a few options.
I notice that from some of the comments yesterday that should explain about this couchsurfing thing again. Actually, I’ll just point you to a blog post that we did in December of 2009.

Such beautiful scenery and friendly people. We are still trying to deal with the sticker shock as well, regarding the price of alcohol a fellow at the beer store said "at least you can drink yourself into the hospital and its paid for".
