Just me and the dog

We did manage to get out for a nice walk in the woods yesterday morning, and I don’t think it rained all day! No sun either, but at least it didn’t rain.

But all these days of rain have made the trails very wet. In fact some of the trails actually had water running on them like they were a river bed instead of a trail. Still, we had a good walk and Whiskey enjoyed herself.

We were up at 4:45am this morning to take Ruth to Halifax airport for her 7:30am flight. It’s only a two hour flight so she’s in Ottawa by now, and is likely headed over to visit with my Mom until her Dad arrives there to take her up to his place.

So it’s just me and the dog for the next two weeks.

If the weather cooperates, I have a list of repair and maintenance items to do for Sherman. Fortunately some of them are indoor items, so even if it’s miserable outside I should be able to get some things accomplished.

It’s still overcast, but they are actually calling for sunshine this afternoon, with a high of 24C (75F) so this could be the best day of weather since we arrived here 7 weeks ago! C'mon sunshine!

  1. Sorry to hear you batching it for two weeks, Kevin , but you can make it, just remember the three basic food groups, Beer Pizza, and snacks, you'll make it through.Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.

  2. I wonder which of the two of you will miss Ruth the most?

  3. Don't over do the list thing, don't want to get it all done at once, pace yourself, a little work, a little beer and so on. The 2 weeks will fly by and be awesome weather when she returns.

  5. Looks like a very wet hike, but a beautiful place to hike. Whiskey still looks great. Enjoy your sunny day, we haven't seen one for weeks.

  6. Sam and Donna: Too funny. Yes, I think I'll be fine!

    Contessa: I think it's a tie...

George and Suzie: Yes, I am pacing myself exactly as you described.

Chuck and Anneke: Yes, we had to run the hose under her and rinse her off. Definitely messy.

pidge: We had some sun yesterday! Hope you get some too!
