I grilled some beef kabobs for dinner. Have I mentioned that I love our little portable Weber grill? Yeah, I think I have. Well, I do.
Out for a walk on Jasper Beach
We were up early this morning, like just before 6:00am. Hit the road pretty much right away because we were headed for Acadia National Park near Bar Harbor. We were a little unsure about this because we know what a popular area this is, and it is the middle of July. But we've never been before, and who knows when we might get another opportunity. So, we bit the bullet and headed for the Seawall Campground in Acadia National Park.
The area really is a zoo of people. Just a little too busy for us. Anyhow, the main Blackwoods Campground is full, but only half of this Seawall Campground is reservable, and the rest is first come, first served. So we showed up here about 10:30am this morning, and we were lucky to get a spot. We paid $20 for our park entrance fee, and that's valid for 7 days. Then, $20 per night for two nights of camping. A much better deal than the Canadian National Parks.
Anyhow, we're going to do some hikes and enjoy the park!
Good to see you will enjoy your stay at Sewall.Sometimes a nice campground is worth the extra bucks, Were spoiled by the Lake where it is $8.00 a night for us and 12 for our guests if they take another spot, 30 amp elect & water and a dump station.Clean showers, and Lake and pool privileges. can't go wrong there. be safe out there.Sam & Donna...
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good choice for staying in that area... we were there about 4 years ago and really loved it. We will be back up there next summer if all goes well.

ReplyDeleteSam and Donna....This is a nice campground but for $20 all you get is a pull through spot (no services), washrooms (no showers) and dump station with a water fill up. It's a little pricey but a nice setting. You are getting a great deal at the lake.
ReplyDeleteDonna...We didn't think we could find somewhere that was nice to boondock so this was the next best thing. The campground is lovely, we would rather have been over in one of the tenting loops, but they won't let RV's in those loops (they were more private), but it is nice and quiet (quieter than we thought it would be, noise level that is!).
Kevin and Evelyn...The scenery is beautiful, just way too busy for us, but we were expecting that at this time of year. I think early June or late September and not on a weekend is a better time to come here.
George and Suzie...Yes, it is beautiful here, two days is not enough time to explore but we will have to move on.
Chris...We love the Weber Q100, it is a definite must buy. Sounds like you are already enjoying your stay at Hacienda Contreras.
Chuck and Anneke...I hope they have too by then. Right now there are just too many people for us. Bar Harbor is like a zoo at the moment and so was Cadallac Mountain. Hoping to get in a quiet hike early today and a bike ride this afternoon.
