Not a good night

We're off to the vet again this morning. Whiskey has been getting progressively worse the last two days and now can't keep any food down. I was up four times with her last night, coming out both ends. Worse, is that now she's not even interested in eating.

Whether or not this is all related to her rabies shot last Thursday, we'll probably never know for sure. We'll see what the vet says I guess.

I suppose at 15 years old, maybe there comes a time when the system just starts to shut down. We were hoping not to have to contemplate the kind of decision that entails, but she is certainly not happy and can't continue like this. Maybe whatever this is is fixable, but something in the back of my head says this isn't going to get better.

We have a vet appointment at 10:40 this morning so I'll report back to you when we get back from the vets.

Managed to get half of the roof washed yesterday, and I'll get the other half done this morning before the sun gets around to the other side. We had a beautiful summer day yesterday and today is forecast to be just as nice. I also got the KandN air filter cleaned and re-oiled, so that's another job crossed off the list.

Up on the roof doing some cleaning.

I know all you RV'ers out there do this roof cleaning and inspection every three months like you're supposed to. So, I don't need to remind you how important it is....do I?

  1. Me and my three pups are sending up doggie prayers. I really hate this part of pet ownership.

  3. So sorry to read that Whiskey is not improving. 15 years is a long time - we lost our last dog at age 16. Unfortunately we waited one day to long to put her to rest and she got in horrible pain and cried and cried until the vet's office opened. I'm holding onto hope that your vet visit will bring improvement to Whiskey.

  5. Lots of prayers for Whiskey. I'm so sorry she doesn't feel good. These loving companions of ours bring so much joy into our lives. And they trust us to do what is right for them. Breaks my heart.

  8. This is the part of pet ownership that we all dread. I've had to go along for moral support on more than one occasion when it finally came time to make that final tough decision. I know my brother said a while back that he never wanted another dog after his last one had to be put down, it broke his heart so.
I kind of feel the same way.
Whiskey might get better, and I sure hope so.

  9. Thank you so much everyone for all your postive thoughts and prayers. They must be working because she is doing better today, so hopefully the improvement will continue and not slide backwards like it did the other day.
