Chris and Juan left fairly early yesterday because they're doing a short trip up to San Antonio and wanted to get an early start. We sure enjoyed our visit with them and look forward to seeing them again later in the season somewhere further south.
Chris and Juan heading out with their new trailer
We did nothing all day yesterday. We have lots of shade, so just sat outside reading. This morning, we're going to attempt a hike up the mountain behind us and we want to do it before it gets too warm. Temperature right now at 7:20am is already 23C (73F) and the sun is only starting to come up so it won't take long to get warm again. Supposed to be around a 3 hour hike to the top, but we've talked to someone already who says he couldn't even find the trail, so I guess we'll see how it goes.
Apparently you can hike to the top of this mountain via a trail that runs up the other side.
We're off to see if we can find the trail!
Those temps are one reason we aren't going to rush to get to AZ. Good luck finding your trail.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great hike if you can find the trail and a real good workout, have fun.
ReplyDelete102 degrees, huh? I'm anxious to get going, but suspect that waiting until mid November will have some benefits. Hope you are having an enjoyable hike.

Glad to hear the pool will be opening, Rigg's would like that too.Hope all is well and you have enough books to last for awhile. Be safe out there.Sam & Donna.
ReplyDeleteThat mountain looks awesome! Hope you take some pictures while you are up there!
ReplyDeleteYup-too hot for hiking!
ReplyDeleteJim and Sandie...Good thing we like hot temperatures as long as we have some shade, we're happy!
ReplyDeleteGeorge and Suzie...It was definitely a workout and yes, we found the trail.
Paul and Helen...It is pretty hot but we like it that way. Up in the mountains it will be cooler.
Sam and Donna...The pool has been open but after Saturday and Sunday with the children in it constantly the water wasn't nice so we asked to have it emptied and refilled which he did for us, but it takes several days to fill it.
FULL-TIMERS...OCT. 17, 2009...You can bet we will. We love just sitting and looking at it, it is very impressive looking.
Chuck and Anneke...If you want to hike you have to do it first thing in the morning for sure.

I'm sure you know we made it to San Antonio just fine, border crossing including to checkpoints and an x-ray for the rv. The headache finally went away and it was 43C in Laredo. Ouch! Santa Vaca!

Chris...Glad you guys made it through the border without any hassles. Sorry about that headache, that Very Rare Scotch will do that to you, you know! We are now in Zacatecas and the temperature is perfect. Enjoy your visit and hope the temperature comes down a bit for you.
