Back to Canada!

That's it, we've had enough of this damn blue sky and sunshine. And I'm tired of having to wear shorts and t-shirts every day!

Ha! Yeah, right!

I can't for the life of me figure out why my ancestors chose Canada. Did they not check the weather before they emigrated?? All they would have had to do is google "Canada, weather" and they would have changed their minds!

And so it was, another beautiful day in this part of Mexico. Not so much in Cancun, where they are having the remains of a hurricane pass through, but our friend Carmen who lives there says it was a non-event.

Took some pictures of the various flowers around the campground.

Sunrise this morning. Looks like another beautiful day, dammit!

  1. maybe your ancestors were from Siberia or Arctic Circle and Canada seemed like the tropics.
Now watch getting all tanned up from that sun, they'll think you are a 'foreigner' when you go back to Canada, especially since you have eradicated EH from your vocabulary.

  2. It's Donna again...forgot to mention when you get to the breaking point of the weather, let us know, you can house sit and we'll sherman sit...after all missouri winters arent quite as bad as canadian winters..of course sam would probably have to give you a crash course w/ his precious john deere on plowing techniques. :-)

  3. That's one thing I must say that the Spaniards had going for them. They had NO interest whatsoever in exploring any place where it got cold.

I still wish there was a "sarcasm font" in blogger though, even though you certainly wouldn't need it in this context.
Sort of along the lines of me making plans to swim the English Channel?
    Right.
Hey, I swam the length of a salt water pool once, and was pretty happy with myself. If you call whatever the hell it was I was doing, "swimming".

  4. I was frightened when I read the header and assumed the worst! Don't scare me again.

    Save some heat for us.

  9. Your site was recommended to me and my husband by John and Janie of Flamingo on a Stick. My husband and I just returned from living in the Lake Chapala area for the past year, although not in an RV. I don't think we would have been brave enough to do that but have taken the plunge and are full-timers now in the states since August. We loved living in Mexico and are now enjoying touring the U.S. Love your blog, especially your travels in Mexico. In my blog (paintyourlandscape.wordpress.com) we talk about our travels in MX. Brings back fond memories.

  11. Your hysterical! We feel exactly like you two...why did our grandparents get off the boat in New York and head for Ohio? Why didn't they stay on the boat and head south?
    Beautiful pictures!

  12. I love Mexico travel. Here in Morelia it is 9C at night and 28C during the day. I remember the ice and snow of Kansas City. Great if it is for a few days, but to shovel that stuff, get the car out, not see any green for months, no thanks.

    I love Mexico!

  13. That was a good one. I was wondering what was up.

Be glad that you had the will power to break the mold and find your own way to better weather:)

  15. Glorious photos. A hard decision you had to make about whether to stay or not. Thanks for coming on my run! We desperately need more of your sun. Got soaked cycling to school today.

  16. Donna W...Nope, they weren't. They were from Britan. My parents even had the choice of Canada and New Zealand! As much as we would love to help you and Sam out, we are not going back to ice and snow, sorry.

Bob...I think both you and Kevin would wear out the "sarcasm font" if they had one!

Contessa...It would scare us if we had to head back to Canada. I am sure the heat will be turned up nicely for your arrival.

Jim and Sandie....Know what you mean.

Kenny and Angela...Sorry, but we can't help it. Your day will come, then you will be able to rub it in too!

Lindsey...Yuck! Glad to hear that they cancelled on the snow. Way too early for that. January will come soon enough.

George and Suzie...Fantastic weather! The things we have to do.

Lu and Terry...Thanks, for stopping by. Sure hope you will enjoy our travels. We are enjoying your posts on Mexico, thanks! Glad that you are enjoying fulltiming, we love it.

Donna K...At least you have blue sky, that means it isn't snowing yet. You need to start heading south now!

FULL-TIMERS...They probably landed on a beautiful day in the summer and had no idea what was in store for them in several months time.

Chris...Our thoughts exactly. In Mexico if it is too cold in the mountains, you drive to the beach. If it's too hot at the beach you drive to the mountains. We can handle that.

Chuck and Anneke...We are glad we did too! If you don't like things the way they are, you have to change, otherwise you are stuck with what you have got because nobody else will change it for you.

Sue and Doug...Sorry to scare you. We are very thankful to be wearing shorts and t-shirts.

Paul...We are trying to send some your way, we have sun to spare here.
