Hacienda Contreras (day 18)

Well, we just had a lazy day yesterday. Other than our two mile fast walk around the park in the morning, it was just a relaxing day. And once again, the weather was perfect.

One of the things we like about this area of Mexico is the weather. From now until about next April, the days will be clear and sunny with highs around 24C (75F). It will get a little chilly overnight because of the clear skies, but it's perfect for sleeping or warming up around a campfire. And, if you want some diversion, the Pacific beaches are only about 5 hours away.

Took this photo of the sunrise just a few minutes ago.

We were just talking yesterday about how much we're enjoying this month of relaxing in one spot. Our spring and summer were pretty hectic, and even driving down to Mexico seemed pretty much non stop. It's sooo nice just to sit and not have to do anything!

But today, we're going to hike up the hill behind Hacienda Contreras. Should make for a nice picture of the RV park from way up there!

Two of the local kitties decided they like our chairs!

Got Whiskey's tree planted, and Ruth planted some wildflowers there as well.

Looking forward to the opening game of the World Series tonight!

  4. What a coincidence. Behind the restaurant is a park and a wooded area separates our plaza from the park area. Many feral cats live in the woods...well 2 kittens were seen so of course we all started feeding them. finally the one lets us pet him and as soon as we can catch him to put him into a carrier I brought in one of the girls is adopting him.
But the odd part is the one is black and white and the other is a grey stripe.....looks exactly like the 2 in your chairs.

  8. Well, at least your two new RV guard cats will keep down any sneaky mouse population that wants to hitch a ride in your rig!

  9. When we're at Hacienda, we promise to take a bottle of water with us to water Whiskey's tree every morning when we go for our walk. What a happy place for her to be! Hope you kids have that trail nice and compacted for us by the time we get there! ;o)

  12. Sue and Doug...Yep, we do. They will miss us when we leave. We look forward to seeing what it will look like in a few years time.

Karen and Al...The weather is great. The problem with Florida is that it might get too cold. I sure hope Forida has a better winter than the last couple.

Karel...One day we hope to see the sun setting in South Africa. We are glad that you are enjoying our blog. The internet is such an amazing thing!

Donna W...That's so nice that one of the girls will take one home. Hope you can catch them. I can pet the grey one. She actually had kittens the other day, but we haven't found them yet. The black and white one hasn't let me pet him, but I'm close. He is the son of the grey one.

George and Suzie...We always enjoy looking out at the sunrise each morning.

FULL-TIMERS...We are really enjoying the relaxing. It's been a while, yet we are looking forward to seeing some new places too.

Paul...We hate winter in Canada but love winter in Mexico. Thanks!

Karen and Steve...They must be doing their job, haven't see one since we got here.

Paula and Jerry...Thank you we will appreciate that and so will Whiskey. It should be good and packed. Looking forward to meeting up.

Chris...Little Momma, had more kittens the other day but we haven't found them yet.

WBY...It is great weather! Thanks, we think so too.
