We crossed the highway and took some side streets into town. From here to the central plaza was about 3 kms (1.9 miles).
Passed by the town cemetery. There sure are lots of flowers there, especially since Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) was less than two weeks ago.
We wandered around town looking for the market, but we couldn't find it. Admittedly, we never asked anyone, but it wasn't that important. We knew of a good fruit and veggie store near the central square so we just went there and bought a bunch of fresh stuff. And of course we sat in the plaza for a half an hour and watched the world go by.
It was relax time in the afternoon. I had a nap, and Ruth did some reading.
This little guy is the neighbours dog. He comes to visit every day and is so happy to see us.
I never mentioned that my bicycle is currently out of commission. Do you remember when we did that long bike ride when we were at Roca Azul? That day, I had noticed a bulge in the rear tire. Then, when we were parked at Villa Corona, we heard a loud bang, but didn't really think anything of it. Later that day, I noticed that the rear tire was flat, and on closer inspection it had popped where that bulge had been. Can't believe it didn't happen while we were out riding! Anyhow, Bonnie had said that there were a couple of bike shops in town and she had dropped off the wheel at one of them. He said he had to order the tire, but when it showed up it turned out it wasn't the right size, so she brought it back yesterday. We will have to wait until we are in Tepic to get the right tire.
Today is our last day here, and we're hoping to go see a local baseball game this afternoon.
Ruth made a fantastic chicken stir fry last night for supper. Fresh veggies....mmm delicious!
Bummer about your bike... sure hope it gets fixed really soon! We love stir fry ~ YUM! Glad you are having fun there!

ReplyDeleteYou guys sure hike alot! It's so good for you. Weather looks awesome. so jealous!
ReplyDeleteHave fun, stay safe!
I see that the vaults are above ground. I guess I never thought the water table was so high there.
ReplyDeleteGlad the tire didn't pop while you weer riding. Safe travels.
A pity about the bike tyre. A nap in the afternoon. Sounds like a lovely relaxing life style you have.
ReplyDeleteGlad the tire waited until you were back before going flat.
ReplyDeleteDonna...It is a bit of a pain as the tire is not a normal size so it will be harder to find one.
ReplyDeleteSam and Donna...We have enjoyed our stay but it is time to move on and explore more. The weather is beautiful.
Elaine...Thanks! The countryside is beautiful and we are having a blast.
mermaid gallery...We love sitting in the plaza and watching the world go by.
George and Suzie...We are looking forward to getting the tire fixed. The supper was so good!
Sue and Doug...Thanks Sue, it was good!
Contessa...Yes, we have had a great week.
WBY...We love to hike and we see so much more this way, plus it's good exercise. Not missing the cold weather back home.
Full-Timers...Yes, the vaults are above groud but I don't think it was to do with the water table. It may because of their rainy season and things then are less likely to get washed away from the heavy rain. We were glad it didn't blow when we were biking too!
Paul...Yes, we will have to get to a bigger town/city to find the correct tire. Gotta love an afternoon nap.
Janie and John...So are we!
