Happy 50th Birthday Ruth!

Well today is a special day! If you look on the left sidebar it says "We are almost 50 years old"....now I'm going to have to change that because one of us is 50 years old!

So we have a bit of a day planned. We are taking a whale and dolphin watching tour that includes snorkeling and fishing. Yes, it's a three hour tour, a three hour tour.

A guy had been coming by regularly trying to sell us this boat tour. He started off a couple of days ago at 160 pesos ($12.48) each, and then he came down to 140 pesos ($10.92) each. Yesterday, we made a deal at 130 pesos ($10.14) each, and the boat leaves at 10:30 this morning. Should be fun!

Yesterday morning, we went for a walk over to the next little town of Los Ayala. It's a quieter place than Rincon de Guayabitos, but it doesn't have as nice of a beach. There are a couple of RV parking areas, we checked with one guy who had three or four sites, all of them empty and the best deal he would make was 800 pesos ($62.40) for a week, and that was just for parking with no hookups. And it wasn't that great of a place. We are happy where we are, so we'll stay put another day or two.

We spent the afternoon on the beach. Walked the entire length and back, and then sat and watched the beachgoers from our spot in the shade. Our friendly caretaker Antonio sat with us for a while and talked. He also rents out chairs and umbrellas to people. They have three little girls, 10, 8, and 3. The oldest one came over and asked to borrow our binoculars. She thought they were pretty neat!

Notice the floaty thing for a baby? It's in yellow, and has a roof attached to it. I think we're going to buy one for our grandson Cameron who is coming for a visit in January!
