Rancho Altarose (day 7)

What a fun day we had yesterday! Well, not so much in the morning as Ruth did a bunch of laundry...but just after lunch Gary took us on the ATV's up to the tequila ranch in the hills. And THAT was fun!

They don't actually make tequila at this ranch, however the owners are involved in the tequila making business and they use this ranch as a destination for the touristy ATV rental adventures that they sell at the resorts in town. Gary's been helping them do some work here and they're building a swimming pool.

Pouring the concrete floor in the swimming pool.

They have a little restaurant here, and they sell the tequila as well. We did some tequila tasting, then sat down for a late lunch. Gord and Sandy had driven up in their pickup truck and met us there. The five of us ordered a huge plate of beef and chicken nachos. Man, do they know how to make nachos! The five of us had a hard time finishing it, and we didn't need to eat much of a dinner yesterday evening.

Now this is a plate of nachos!

Our bartender kid, Jason. I think when he grows up he'll make a really good bartender! He wanted to take the next picture, and I think he did a pretty good job...

We've had a lot of fun here at Rancho Altarose and we could easily spend another week. It's too bad more people RV'ing through Puerto Vallarta don't make the small detour to come in and see Gary and Jean. They sure make you feel right at home.

But, it's time for us to move on. We're leaving here early this morning to make our way through Puerto Vallarta before the traffic starts. Heading for the botanical gardens about a half hour south of Puerto Vallarta.

  11. Thank you everyone for the wonderful comments. We always enjoy reading them. I have been finding it difficult to try and keep up with the comments like I had been doing. We seem to either have limited internet access, not enough power or we are just way too busy, usually it is a combination one one or more of these three things. If your comment is a question we will either answer it in the comments or send you a private email if you are set up that way but I won't be commenting the way I used to do.

BTW, those nachos were definitely the best we have ever had and oh so filling!

Now I have to start trying to catch up on blog reading!
