The Big Five-O

Ruth turned 50 years old last November. Today, it's my turn! The Acapulco coast is not a bad place to be celebrating this milestone, and at least we have our daughter and grandson here to celebrate with us. Missing our son Alex though.

Also missing my friends on this special day. I have a group of friends who have known each other since we were about 16 years old. I'm the first of the group to turn 50, although a couple of the others aren't far behind. Paul, Bruce, Jeff, Dave, Russ, Harold...I wish we could all be together so that you could buy me a pint today! We should be back in Ottawa in late April or early May, so we'll get together then!

We're heading for Acapulco this morning. Only a two hour drive or so, and we're heading to the Quebecer trailer park near the airport. Yes, the one we said we'd never go to again. But, the convenience of being close to the airport for Lindsey and Cameron's flight tomorrow outweighs our dislike of the park itself!

  5. What a GREAT picture of your daughter and grandson. And what a nice birthday present as well. I'd say you are pretty amazing to be living the life you are at only 50. Most folks don't get that kind of freedom for another 10 or 15 years at least. Cheers to you!
