Barb and Sal got a new puppy a few weeks ago. She stays here at the campground, so we can take her for a walk when we like. She's a real sweet girl, and her name is Bella. The name means "beautiful" in Spanish.
Ruth and Bella.
Last year, Sherman's water pump began leaking. Then mysteriously, it stopped. So I left it well enough alone. The manufacturer had sent a part they thought would fix the leak, so I had that with me. But recently it has begun leaking again so I figured I better take it apart. And, we're going to Vegas in a few days, so worse case scenario is I can buy a new pump there and bring it back with me if I need to.
So I took it all apart and cleaned everything. The part they sent me was not the part I needed, but I think I got the leak fixed anyhow. I used some gasket sealer when I put it back together, but it has to cure for 24 hours so I won't know until today if it is okay.
In preparation for yesterday's fiesta, we had to get Don Quixote ready for the party. Sal bought him a new saddle so he could give the kids some rides. Some of the ladies here at the campground decided Don needed a bath...
Donkey having a bath. It was too funny.
He is such a gentle donkey and we think he enjoyed being brushed and bathed!
Another new addition to the campground is the swimming pool! The water is still a little chilly for my liking, but Sal has it running through some black solar hose that is slowly warming it up.
Now for some fiesta photos! What a great party we had. Barb and Sal invited all of their local friends as well, and we had birria and carnitas and tequila and music and dancing. People started arriving around 2:30pm and there were probably about 100 people there at one point.
Donkey giving some kids a ride.
Our table having a good time!
Coming back with some food.
And it was delicious!
Having a fiesta under the big tree.
And then the music showed up!
And there was dancing!
And more donkey rides!
Jerry and Paula got their dancing shoes on too!
Even Ruth got in on the action!
You know the party's getting good when...
Jerry and Paula having lots of laughs!
The party went on after dark.
And a good time was had by all!
I never say anyone give a donkey a bath...how funny and entertaining. Why did they have the fiesta? Really guess it doesn't matter why...it looks like a wonderful time was had by all! Enjoy your week. ~wheresweaver
ReplyDeleteAh, forgot to mention that. The fiesta was a party put on by Hacienda Contreras to thank their campers for such a good season.
DeleteHere the camping season starts on April 1st and ends on Nov 1st. Like the fiesta fotos, looks like everyone including Donkey Hotey was having fun..Pretty sure in Mexico you don't have to have a reason for a party.Be safe out there and have fun in Vegas. Sam & Donna....
ReplyDeleteSam you are right you don't have to have a reason for a party in Mexico!
DeleteNow that was a party!!! Loved the huge tree giving everyone shade.
ReplyDeleteThat big tree is only a few years younger than Sal. He said he was about seven when it was being planted by his grandfather.
Delete"What did you do today, dear?"
ReplyDelete"Well, first I had to wash somebody's "ass", and then I got to go to a party!"
OK fine, I know it's a donkey, not an ass, but I can't help myself.
Next to that, the Dude with bottle on his head was the topper.
That was awesome. Thanks for the laugh!
There quite a few "ass" comments flying around as we were giving him a bath.
DeleteThat dude with the bottle on is head is Sal (the owner of the campground) and he danced to whole song with the bottle on his head and never had to touch it the whole time.
Hm, somehow I think he's been practising with that bottle!
DeleteHahaha, Sal's my dad and he has great balance. He has danced with cakes on his head, too. :)
DeleteBob you crack me up!!!! lol
DeleteSquirt and Tequila will make you have happy feet.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great time was has.
Nothing quite like a good Mexican party! You can't help but have a good time!
ReplyDeleteNow that looks like a fun party!
ReplyDeleteIt's apparent that we left Mexico too soon! What a fiesta!!!
ReplyDeleteYep, you did! We were hoping to see you two before you left and headed back home, actually we thought you might have been here for the party. Sure hope you had a good time in Mexico.
DeleteLooks like a good time was had by all. Maybe next year!
