Another Mexican wedding

Yesterday morning, Barb and Sal were going into town so we hitched a ride with them. Saturday is market day, and that's when we buy our supply of fruits and veggies for the week.

We got our two bags of produce and did the half hour walk back to the campground.

Just after lunch Ruth did Nancy's hair. Usually when we stay in an RV park in Mexico and the other campers find out that Ruth used to be a hairdresser, they are quick to take advantage of it because otherwise they have to go to a Mexican hairstylist and they have a hard time describing what kind of cut they want.

Then at 3:30 we all piled into Sal's truck and went to a wedding down the road. The bride was Sal's cousin's daughter. There were about 200 people there and it was an outdoor wedding with a civil ceremony. It was held on the property of the father of the groom.

We were among the first to get there.

Everybody having a good time!

The happy couple

We had a great time. We had carnitas (pork and salsa and tortillas) and rice and beans, and of course an unlimited supply of tequila. Took it easy though and we were home fairly early because we have a big hike planned for today. There are four viewpoints surrounding the campground and we have been to the top of three of them. We said to ourselves that we have to get to the top of the fourth before we leave here, so today is the day of the big hike!

Mostly thanks to readers of this blog, we are now in first place in our division of the contest. There are nine divisions though so coming in first place gives us a 1 in 9 chance of winning the $12,000 to put towards a trip to Australia. Voting continues until June 7, so we have to keep at it!

Thanks for helping us win and have a great Sunday!
