Well, our time in Chicago next month is almost all figured out. It's going to be a busy five days! And our trip overseas in June is coming together as well. There's going to be another month of downtime in between the two, but then it's going to be a busy few months after that!
The big question mark is July and August. And September too, but that's still pretty far away. We're actually busy with our house and dog sitting deal in Wakefield, England until July 9, but then we have to figure out where to go. There's a lot of the UK we haven't seen yet, even though we've been over there five or six times before.
So we might just stay in the UK a while longer. Besides, we have family we want to visit in other parts of England and we'd like to go to Scotland again and see a different part of it. And it was over 20 years ago when we were last there any how. And we've never been to Wales or Ireland. Too many choices, which leads me to our other choice.
There are some VERY inexpensive airfares out of England to other interesting places in Europe. There is a lot of competition between discount carriers in Europe. There is Ryanair, Jet2, easyjet, wizzair, and quite a few others. And if you happen to be flexible, as we are, you can take advantage of specials that can be under £10 ($15) plus tax.
So that opens up the whole of Europe, even if it's just for a short visit. We've never been to Europe, other than 2 weeks in Portugal and a long weekend in Copenhagen. Maybe we'll go to Poland, or Bulgaria!
I have a feeling that this summer is going to "fly" by!
Another good day at the voting booth! Up by over 200 votes again yesterday. Ruth said yesterday that you can leave a comment under the voting thing, and I know that some of you have left comments. Not sure whether it makes any difference as to who is going to win, but Ruth thinks that if they left a place for comments, they must want you to leave a comment! Makes sense to me!

ReplyDeleteJust voted and left a comment, too! I'm going to go thru my e-mail list again and send the contest to some more friends. Want you to win!!
ReplyDeleteWell spotted for the cheap flights out of England, they do add things on to that, e.g. baggage (you have to check they are not adding insurance, etc. if you already have that) but the flights are still crazy cheap prices. I hope you have fun in England!
ReplyDeleteYes, you are correct and I should have mentioned that. To take advantage of the truly cheap prices you need to travel without any of the extras. Just carry on bags and the basics. And that's the way we do things!
DeleteI do like the look of your new blog! Yes, for certain your summer will 'fly' by!
ReplyDeleteSouthern Spain and northern Portugal could be very nice.
