Ruth's highlights of our past six months (Part 2)

Okay, it's on to Part 2 of our past six months in Mexico.  We explored many new places as well as a few of our favourites.  It is really hard to pick some of these as we have so many wonderful experiences but we don't want this to go on forever for you so I'll try to keep it to a minimum.

Sal and Barb taking us to a 100+ year old mezcal factory in the mountains near Valle de Juarez, Jalisco

Spending a week in and around Patzcuaro, Michoacan.
This is the Statue of José Maria Morelos on Isla de Janitzio

Spending a day with blog reader Mike and here we are having iguana soup

Visting the Paricutin Volcano and the church buried in the lava near Uruapan, Michoacan

Meeting up with blog readers Marty and Debi at their home in Troncones, Guerrero

Seeing amazing sunsets, this one was at Piedra Tlacoyunque, Guerrero

More blog readers John and his sister Diana in Acapulco, Guerrero

Having our daughter Lindsey and grandson Cameron visit us for 3 weeks

Spending 2 weeks with our Mexican friends, Alfredo, Mary and their daughter Nataly near Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca

Xochicalco ruins near Cuernavaca, Morelos

So many new Mexican friends!

Spending a fantastic week in Mexico City, just too many photos to show!

Teotihuacan ruins just north of Mexico City

And finally the big fiesta for the end of the camping season for Barb and Sal as a thank you the campers for such a fun season

There are so many more pictures I would love to show and so many more people to mention, like Paul and Helen, Daryl and Sandie who are more blog readers that came to meet us at Hacienda Contreras, but I don't have any pictures of us together.  Our couchsurfing hosts in Mexico City .  We have had a great time in Mexico these past 6 months and saw so many beautiful places and wonderful people.

We are now looking to new adventures for our next six months, so stay tuned!

Having said that, don't forget to get that daily vote in, it only takes 5 seconds to do it! Thanks for helping us win!

  3. What a great six months. When I look through your photos it reaffirms for me that it isn't just the beautiful places we get to see but the beautiful people we meet and get to spend time with that makes this life so great.

  4. What wonderful times you have enjoyed. I agree with Jamie and John. The real beauty is in the people we meet along the way and reuniting with family and friends.

  9. Nice review, seems like Mexico agrees with you.

I climbed that pyramid at Teotihuacan, those uneven steps made for an interesting climb. Even more fun coming down.

I actually survived all those trinket vendors, too. :c)

    1. Yep, we made it up to the top of the pyramid too, sure was funny watching some of the people coming down on their bums one step at a time. I was glad that there was a rope handy, I had too use it on one very steep part. We survived the trinket guys too!
