Another fiesta by the big tree

A fiesta and a feast that is.

Who says you need a reason for a fiesta. Barb and Sal invited some of their friends and relatives and we had a little party by the big tree!

There was a ton of food. Everybody brought something as well so a lot of variety. I think we all ate too much!

Mmmmm.

Even Bella the dog came to the party.

They used the "mule" to ferry everybody up to the washrooms when necessary. Here is Sal's sister on the left, his mother, his aunt (age 90!) and his nephew.

Then a few games of bean bag toss.

Even Sal's Mom played.

I think today we'll start thinking about getting things sorted out for our trip to Chicago. Time is flying by, and we leave here in only four days. We're going to stay overnight somewhere close to Guadalajara airport on Sunday night and our flight leaves Monday morning. We won't be back at Sherman until probably October so we have to sort through every little cabinet and cubbyhole to figure out what we're going to need for the next five months, including things that we'll need if we end up driving our little car down here next fall.

This is our little car. It is in storage up near Ottawa and we're thinking we might drive it down to South America next fall and winter!

Time to go vote!

  2. That big tree is sure a great spot to hang out. I'm guessing that that "mule" isn't likely to try and bite your ear off. Of course, just don't stand in the way.
No "lawn darts", eh? Have "lawn darts" been eradicated from the face of the earth?
I suppose 'bean bag toss' is infinitely safer.
Also a good chance to learn a couple choice Spanish cuss words.

  4. What a beautiful day for a picnic.
Hope Sherman doesn't get too lonely be left by itself all that time. Not sure how I could pack for that long a period of time.

    Howdy R&K,
I have done my duty for today, sir!!! How about that beautiful little blue zoomer!! Better not leave that sitting around down in Mexico... When you get back it'll have boomboxes, a 20" lift-kit and hydraulics to make it go up & down(low-rider)!!! Have a great trip
over the waves, give my regards to the Queen and Charlie(no respect).
Just send lots of pics of the isles and fish n chips!!! Enjoy Chi-town...
