On our way down south, we were contacted by readers Connie and Barry. They offered us a place to sleep for a night! We were on a bit of a time crunch, but we really like meeting the people who read about our adventures every day, so we really wanted to come to their place for a visit!
Barry and Connie and Ruth and Kevin
Turns out that Barry used to be a popular race car driver in the Sprint Car series in the 70's and 80's, and he and Connie also owned an auto parts store. We were totally surprised when they presented us with some parts for the little blue car! They gave us an oil filter and an air filter and a set of spark plugs so that we wouldn't have to worry about trying to find this stuff while in Mexico!
Of course Connie and Barry are now retired, and that auto parts store is now run as an online business through e-Bay, by their son Troy and grandson Trevir.

I don't know how many of you still do your own tune ups and oil changes, but I do whenever possible, so maybe you do too. If you're interested, you can buy your tune up parts from B and C Auto Parts eBay. They have an excellent rating on eBay, and they ship all over the world without any problems at all.
If you have trouble finding the part number applicable for your vehicle, you can look it up at www.framcatalog.com
You meet so many nice people in your lifetime and you two are a prime example of that. I'm sure that many of your followers will agree. You both are like OUR KIDS to us. We enjoyed meeting you and had a grand time getting to spend time with you. Beavertown can be your PIT STOP anytime you're in the area! Take care and thanks for being our tour guides these past couple of years......((hugs))B&C
ReplyDeleteThank you Connie and Barry, you are such welcoming people. It was so easy to have such a great time with you both. Our only compliant was that we wished we could have stayed longer. BTW, thanks so the snacks, we enjoyed them on our long driving days. Looking forward to meeting up with you both again in the future.
DeleteAlways so nice to meet up with followers along the way, glad you had fun there.
ReplyDeleteBoy, am I glad you took that picture of the old mill. Yesterday they started to replace the roof and they tore off the pointed section where the sign was. It was leaking in that area and they are going to flatten out the roof the whole way across now. Your camera takes much better photos than mine - so TKS for the up to date pic!
ReplyDeleteIf you want we can send you a copy of the picture of the old mill, just let us know.
DeleteI saved the pic from the blog in my pic file. Your camera does a great job - the colors are so vibrant! Thank you!
